About IYSF
The IYSF International Yogasana Sports Federation serves as the international governing body for the yogasana sports, with responsibility for sanctioning world championship and other international yogasana sports events, establishing uniform rules, and setting standards for and recording of world records. It acts
- To establish and maintain necessary rules and regulation to organize and participate in international yogasana sports competition and encourage, promote, develop, supervise and organizing yogasana sports competition at international level.
- To carry the regulation, promotion, development, supervision, and furtherance of sports and promote, control good sporting practice.
- To safeguard the right and health of athletes and to combat doping and all other process and procedures that might undermine sporting equality.
- To establish training courses, research centers and educational institutions for the promotion/expansion of yogasana sports.
- To generally promote this sport as a healthy and educational activity for youth.
- To decide which international yogasana sports competitions are officially recognized and to establish annual international events calendars.
- To establish training courses for IYSF officials in order to guarantee the highest possible standards for IYSF officials, where appropriate, to encourage the formation of continental or regional organizations to promote yogasana sports competitions.
- To award licenses and contracts to members and other organizations that seeks authorization to organize official international competitions and associated activities.
- To promote and control good sporting practice.
- To respect gender equality at all levels, in its competition and management, allowing women and men to have the same opportunities.
- To promote the equality of rewards, prizes and prize money.
- To safeguard the rights and health of the athletes and to combat doping and all other processes and procedures that might undermine sporting equality.
- To ensure the olympic movement medical code and the world anti-doping code are applied.
- To respect the olympic charter and to develop the sport towards possible programmed status in the olympic games.
- To serve as the final body for protest and other legal questions concerning yogasana sports competitions and for all questions concerning the IYSF rules subject to an appeal to the Indian court of arbitration for sports (ICAS).
- To consider the protection of the environment when organizing and promoting its activities.
- To ensure/provide the promotion in the media of the discipline and the international competitions in the IYSF calendar.
- To seek actively and provide income for the proper functioning of the sport.
- To establish research centers and educational institutions for the promotion/expansion of yogasana sports.
- Publication of books/magazine and newspaper for the promotion of yogasana sports.
- Promoting yogasana sports through various other mediums.
- Connecting those national association/unit which are formerly operational in the field of yogasana sports in the name of yog/yoga sports and to give them affiliation/recognition through IYSF.
